New Delhi, Nov 25 (Agency) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday chaired a Parliamentary Strategy Group meeting which was also attended by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. In the meeting, the leaders discussed issues to be taken up by the grand old party in the Parliament. Talking to the media after the meeting, party general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “Today we had a meeting of Congress Parliamentary Strategy Group which was chaired by Leader of Opposition In Rajya Sabha and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge”. In the meeting we deliberated on issues that we want to have discussions in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
There are social issues, economic issues, Adani scam, Manipur, border agreement with China, recent incidents of communal violence, pollution and many other issues”. He said that there were 13 to 14 issues that were discussed in the meeting. “Tomorrow there will be no Parliament session as 75th Constitution Day will be celebrated. From Wednesday we will raise these issues and we had raised them today in both the Houses of Parliament also. We will continue to raise these issues and we will not back down,” the senior Congress leader said. On the party’s demand for a probe by Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) into the bribery allegation against Gautam Adani, Ramesh said, “Our demand for JPC will be there and it is necessary as new revelations have come up in an investigation by the US authorities”.
