Kejriwal seeks HM Shah’s time to discuss KP’s “genocide” in valley

New Delhi, June 7 (Agency) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday sought for Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s time to discuss the “genocide” of Kashmiri Pandits happening in the valley. Posting via his Twitter account, the CM informed: “I have asked for Union Home Minister’s time to discuss the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits happening in the valley.” Two days ago, the national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party organised a mega rally in Delhi to protest the killings of Kashmiri Pandits. Kejriwal led AAP has been aggressively trying to corner the BJP-led government at the Centre over the Kashmiri Pandits issue. Senior leaders of AAP have been regularly tweeting and issuing statements against BJP highlighting its “failure” to rehabilitate and provide a safe atmosphere to the minority community in the valley.

On more than one occasion, Kejriwal has raised the issue in his digital address in the last three weeks. Meanwhile, the situation in Kashmir remains volatile for the Pandits. A spate of targeted killings in Kashmir started in May, which included that of Rahul Bhat, a clerk, who was shot dead inside the tehsildar’s office in Budgam district’s Chadoora. Since January 2022, the valley has recorded 18 targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits and civilians; Seven people were murdered in May alone.
