Kejriwal criticises Centre’s Ordinance to Interfere with Delhi Administration

Hyderabad, May 27 (FN Representative) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday strongly criticised the ordinance introduced by the Central Government, which aims to obstruct the administration of Delhi. Kejriwal is currently visiting various states to garner support against the recent ordinance issued by the Centre against the orders of the Supreme Court. As part of it, Kejriwal, along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan and sought his support. Speaking to reporters later, Kejriwal expressed his gratitude to the Telangana CM for his assistance, extending his thanks on behalf of the people of Delhi. He emphasised that former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit had control over service-related matters in the past. Kejriwal mentioned that they had fought for eight years, and on May 11, a favorable verdict was delivered in favor of the people of Delhi. However, within eight days, the Delhi administration had been taken over by the Modi government, which introduced this anti-ordinance.

He raised concerns about where the people could seek justice if the Supreme Court’s directives were ignored, stating that this insulted the people of Delhi. Kejriwal asserted that this problem was not limited to the people of Delhi alone but affected the entire nation. Accusing the BJP of employing the CBI and ED to threaten and topple non-BJP governments, Kejriwal highlighted the party’s habit of destabilizing non-BJP governments. Questioning the need for electing a Chief Minister if the governor’s rule could be implemented at will, Kejriwal emphasized the importance of uniting all non-BJP parties to effectively challenge the BJP. He urged the people to defeat the Modi government in order to safeguard their freedom. Punjab CM echoed Kejriwal’s sentiments, stating that they were fighting to protect the country’s democracy. He also criticized the NITI Aayog meeting being held in Delhi on Saturday, alleging that it was merely a formality and lacked any meaningful purpose. Bhagwantman emphasized that the meetings were conducted according to their whims and desires.
