New Delhi, Oct 8 (Representative) Accusing the BJP of conspiring against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ministers and halting the development work in Delhi, party/s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday assured people that stalled projects would be restarted and many new works undertaken once their government is re-elected in the upcoming Assembly polls,Addressing the media at the party headquarters here, Kejriwal said, “For the last one year Delhiites have witnessed how they (BJP) have put ministers in jail one after the other and tried to stall the work in Delhi and tried to derail the Delhi government. Despite that, we are doing everything that we can, and we are standing tall.” “Now I have come out of jail. I want to assure everyone that we are now paying attention to all the pending work and problems of the people in Delhi. It is our duty to solve your problems. I have come to know that there is a problem with medicines in hospitals and Mohalla Clinics,” he affirmed.
“These (BJP) people have stopped medicines. They have stopped free tests in hospitals and Mohalla Clinics. These people have also stopped the Farishte Yojana, under which free treatment was provided to anyone who met with a road accident in Delhi,” he said. “These (BJP) people stopped the repair of roads. Stopped old age pension. In this way, many other works were stopped. Salaries of many home guards and many people were stopped,” he claimed, stating that now the Delhi government has started all those works.“Whatever work was stopped, I have asked CM Atishi to start it and our government will start all those works. We will try to solve the problems faced by the people,” Kejriwal assured. After inspection, it was found that 89 roads need to be built afresh. Of which tenders have been issued for 74 roads and the remaining 15 roads are also in the tender process. Also, 2.53 lakh square metres of roads need patchwork. And in the last week itself, patchwork has been done on about 40,000 square meter area,” she said. “All the remaining work will be completed by 31 October. Also, more than half of the 6671 potholes have been filled, the rest will also be repaired soon,” Atishi added.
