Janaspandana: Bommai sounds corruption bugle to target Cong in 2023 polls

Doddaballapur, Sep 11 (FN Agency) Taking forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decisive war against corruption, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday said the BJP will expose the true colours and pervert image of the Congress by placing before the people the scams that happened during their rule. “Where all you (Congress) have kept (the illegal money) people know it all. In some days from now that will be exposed. Your illegal investments also will be exposed. We will place before the people all your scams, your pervert image and true colors. After this people will abuse you,” he said, addressing BJP’s 2-lakh strong Janapandana rally here. Bommai also challenged the Congress to stop BJP’s resolve to bring the party back to power amd added that the use of illegal money will not fetch them electoral dividends in the coming 2023 assembly election in the state.” Your (Congress) dreams will remain dreams. People of Karnataka have seen your corruption and misrule.

Therefore there are no more opportunities for you. From Doddaballapur we have started this Janaspandana rally and will take it to all parts of Karnataka to bring BJP back to power. If you have the might. If you have the guts, try to stop it. Not through talks you can do this. This is democracy. People make decisions. Your money earned through long years of corruption will not work anymore, respected men,” he said. Bommai accused Siddaramaiah of presiding over the scams when Congress was in power. Taking a dig at his flagship Anna Bhagya Yojana, he reminisced the mysterious death of IAS officer Anurag Tiwari who was investigating Anna Bhagya scam. The CM also alleged Siddaramaiah running a big sand business and committing a scam in giving bed sheets and pillows to SC/STs. He accused the former CM of denotifying BDA Arkavathy land. “The list is long…scam in giving laptops. In minor irrigation, you billed Rs 40,000 crore without any work.

And, you accuse us of percentage? Yours was a 100 percent (commission) government,” Bommai alleged. CM also alleged Siddaramaiah government’s inaction into recruitment scams involving police and teachers. Earlier Siddaramaiah termed BJP’s Janaspandana as a commission rally. “The BJP government is neck-deep in corruption and charges 40 percent commission for granting public works. It is not Janaspandana, but a commission rally,” he alleged. The mega event was organised with ill-gotten money earned by BJP leaders through 40 per cent commission, Siddaramaiah said. Referring to Santosh Patil’s mysterious death, he questioned the BJP whether its leaders are boasting about killing its own party worker. Further taking potshots at Siddaramaiah, Bommai said the BJP leaders are spending huge money on convention instead of addressing the problems of the people who have been affected by incessant rains and inundation. “Instead of reciprocating to the woes of the people, sadly no minister is visiting his constituency,” he said. The situation is so bad in Bengaluru that the people are using boats to commute, Siddaramaiah stated.
