New Delhi, Jan 13 (Agency) The Congress on Friday said the party’s forthcoming ‘Haath Se Haat Jodo Abhiyan’ is an extension of the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is scheduled to conclude this month. “We have always said that there will be a follow up of Bharat Jodo Yatra. Haath Se Haat Jodo Abhiyan is an extension of the Bharat Jodo Yatra,” Congress general secretary in-charge Communications Jairam Ramesh said at a press conference at the party headquarters here. Apprising about the party’s upcoming massive campaign , the Congress MP said, ” The campaign will kick off across the country on January 26 and will continue till March 26. Over 10 lakh polling booths will be covered during the two month campaign.”
“During the campaign, our workers will visit house to house and a hand over a letter of Rahul Gandhi addressing to the people (mentioning about Bharat Jodo Yatra) and a ‘chargesheet’ highlighting the failure of the Narendra Modi-led government in the last eight years,” Ramesh said as he shared the copy of letter of former party president with the reporters. He also announced that the ‘chargesheet’ against the Modi government wil be released very soon. “There was no election symbol of Congress in the logo of Bharat Jodo Yatra. In Haath Se Haat Jodo Abhiyan’s logo there will be party’s election symbol,” the senior Congress leader said, adding this campaign is a “political packaging” of the yatra. Talking about the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Rajya Sabha MP said the Yatra-led by Rahul Gandhi will enter into Jammu and Kashmir on January 19. The concluding function of the Bharat Jodo Yatra is scheduled to be held in Srinagar on January 30. The party had invited chiefs of several like-minded parties to attend the concluding function.
