Kangra, June 20 (FN Agency) Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee working president and Kangra MLA Pawan Kajal has charged that the BJP government at the center is misleading the youth of the country on the Agnipath recruitment issue. He appealed to the central government to make the youth aware regarding the scheme before recruiting Agniveers into the forces. He said that the youth and soldiers of Dev Bhoomi Himachal have contributed a lot in the defense of the country and claimed that the youth is now terming joining the army for 4 years as tampering with the honor and respect of the soldiers. On Sunday, Kajal was speaking while addressing the villagers in the Gram Panchayat Jogipur under the public relations campaign.
He said that the central government has failed to control inflation and unemployment. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Himachal Pradesh twice in a fortnight, in which the government spent crores of rupees on his welcome, but the Prime Minister has allegedly cheated the people of Himachal by not announcing any new scheme or economic package for Dev Bhoomi Himachal.Kajal said that as the assembly elections are approaching, many senior ministers of the central government are turning to Dev Bhoomi every day, but despite having a double engine government for the last four and a half years, no one has taken care of the unemployment of the youth of this hill state or about the development here. Kajal said that the Congress party is standing with the general public on the issue of unemployment and inflation and by opposing the schemes of the Center at the booth level, will inform the public about the plans of this anti-people government.
He has demanded quashing of cases against around 300 youths against whom cases were registered by the police for opposing the Agnipath recruitment scheme at Gaggal police station. Kajal said that the middle school in the village panchayat Jogipur has been given the status of high school by the Congress government and has provided facilities to the youth to play by leveling two sports grounds of the village, besides installing 14 hand pumps in the village during the tenure of the previous Congress government. Kajal said that soon the expansion work of the sewerage project in the panchayat would also be started. He also distributed cheques of financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 to 12 Mahila Mandals registered under Panchayat headed by Rimple Kumar, the village Pradan. Deputy pradan Arun Kumar welcomed MLA Kajal and announced open support of the Congress party in the coming assembly elections. On this occasion ward members and other dignitaries were present.
