Gear up for upcoming polls in nine states : Nadda

New Delhi, Jan 16 (Representative) BJP National President JP Nadda in his inaugural address to the National Executive meeting on Monday outlined the party’s strategy to fight Assembly elections in nine states and asked the entire executive to gear up for the upcoming polls, said BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad while addressing a press conference here. “BJP chief said 2023 is very important and that we have to fight and win 9 state elections this year and then general elections in 2024”, he said. “72 thousand booths were marked in 100 Lok Sabha constituencies across the country where BJP was weak, but the party had reached 1 lakh 30 thousand booths and spread the policies of the party” said Prasad. The BJP chief also discussed recent poll set back in Himachal and the stupendous victory in Gujarat. Regarding Himachal polls, he said “we were supposed to change the tradition of changing governments but we couldn’t do that” he said. According to Prasad, Nadda also spoke about representation of all sections of society in the party and its leadership.

The BJP President termed the Gujarati Assembly election results as historic, thanked all the party workers and appreciated the PM for leading from the front, said Prasad. “President also highlighted the work culture of New India citing an example of a vaccination program which provided over 220 crore doses under the leadership of Modi Ji” said RS Prasad “Nadda also remarked that India has piped the UK to become the fifth-largest economy in the world. Not only that we have become the 2nd largest manufacturer of mobile phones and more than 95% of mobile phones used in India are Made In India” said party leader. According to Parsad, Nadda highlighted the fact that India is making semi-high-speed trains, the country’s fin-tech movement now contributes to 40% of digital transactions worldwide. This, he said shows our resolve towards Made In India and making a developed India. “Nadda also praised the pause in the Russia-Ukraine war that the PM was able to ensure so that our children could be rescued from the war zone” said Prasad. Before the meeting started at the NDMC Convention Centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held the roadshow.

A few cultural performances were held on the roadside as he passed. Top leaders like Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Railways Minister Ashwani Vaishnaw, Nadda, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his Madhya Pradesh counterpart Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and others reached to attend the meeting. The two-day National Executive meeting of BJP kicked off at the NDMC centre in New Delhi on Monday afternoon. Prime Minister Modi will address the concluding session of the meeting on Tuesday. The national executive meet will a draw a roadmap for the crucial political battles that will set the tone for 2024 when PM Narendra Modi seeks a third straight term. This is the first national executive meeting after the recent assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. According to sources at the national executive, the BJP leadership may announce a year’s extension for party president JP Nadda, whose tenure ends later this month.
