New Delhi, Dec 6 (Agency) The Congress on Tuesday demanded to the Government to hold discussion on various issues, including India-China border situation, price rise, unemployment and alleged misuse of Central agencies in the Winter session of Parliament ,which is scheduled to begin from Wednesday. Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who attended the all-party meeting of the floor leaders chaired by Defence Minister Rajath Singh, while talking to reporters, apprised that he had raised various issues and demanded discussion on the same. “I have raised several issues in the meeting, including India-China border situation, price rise, unemployment, alleged misuse of Central agencies, attack on Kashmiri Pandits and farmers MSP. The government should hold discussion over these issues,” he said.
Chowdhury added,” Opposition only wants discussion in the Parliament. I hope the government will give opportunity to the Opposition.” He said he also raised concerns about Christmas falling during the Winter session and added that it must be considered while calling a session. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi , however, said, “Telling that we are ignoring Christmas is the most unfortunate allegation.” ‘We kept the session from December 7 to 29. There is already a two day holiday on December 24 and 25,” he added. On Oppositions demand on discussion on various issues, Joshi said, “On behalf of the government, I have assured that under rule and procedure, we are ready for discussion on any issue.” All together 31 parties out of the 47 participated in the meeting.
