Congress slams govt over fuel prices hike

New Delhi, April 3 (Agency) The Congress party on Sunday launched a fresh attack at the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre over continuous hike in prices of petrol and diesel, and termed it as “fuel loot”. “Another ‘good morning gift’ of Modi ji. Eleventh installment of fuel loot! Price of petrol, diesel hiked 80 paise per litre.

Rs 8 per litre hiked in the last 13 days. The ‘license to loot’ continues…” Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said in a tweet. Surjewala’s reaction came after petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 80 paise per litre on Sunday. In Delhi, petrol now costs Rs 103.41 per litre and diesel Rs 94.67. Last month, Congress demanded the Centre to restore the prices of fuel and gas cylinders at the level as it were during the Congress-led UPA government.
