Hamirpur (HP), March 1 (Agency) The Hamirpur unit of Congress on Tuesday demanded the state government to set up a statue of former Hamirpur MP late NC Prashar at Nadaun Mini Secretariat for his contribution towards the society in general and Hamirpur people in particular. District party president Rajendra Zar in a statement here hailed the working of late Prashar during his four stints as Member of Parliament and thereafter as MLA from Nadaun Assembly segment for three terms.
He said as Education Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Prashar had also introduced himself to be an excellent educationist. Such a great personality should get due respect from the state government, added Zar. The District President also asked the state government to accept the demand of government employees to restore the old pension scheme, which has been going on for a long time. Stating that the Congress government of Rajasthan has already accepted this demand, the Congress leader said it was a legal and justified demand of the employees, which should be fulfilled.
