Cong takes dig at Delhi govt over water-logging

New Delhi, July 12 (FN Agency) Congress on Tuesday took a dig at the Delhi government and MCD over ‘waterlogging’ in various parts of the national capital, caused by downpour and demanded to take constructive steps to address the problem. “The Delhi government and MCD only make promises without doing any work at the ground level, which is evident from repeated waterlogging.

They again failed to prevent waterlogging despite making tall claims as another spell of rain repeats the same old story,” Delhi Congress president Anil Chaudhary said. He also alleged ‘corruption’ in the name of desilting of drains, which he claimed, never took place.”I appeal to the government and MCD to take constructive steps to address this issue as mere ‘instructions’ to officials will not solve the problem. Waterlogging not only creates heavy traffic jams all over Delhi, but also causes wastage of people’s time and fuel,” the Delhi Congress chief said.
