Cong stages protest in Jaipur

Jaipur, July 21 (Bureau) Rajasthan ministers and Congress workers on Thursday staged a protest in Jaipur against ED notice to party president Sonia Gandhi in the National Herald case. Party workers, leaders and ministers have been staging a sit-in protest outside the Enforcement Directorate office here. State party president Govind Singh Dotasra, Urban Development Minister Shanti Dhariwal, Food Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, Health Minister Parsadi Lal Meena, Power Minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati are among those who participated in the agitation. Talking to media personnel, many ministers accused the central government of using central agencies to suppress the voice of opposition.

Initially, the Congress president was summoned by the ED on June 23 in the alleged money laundering case, however, as she was recuperating from post Covid health issues, the questioning was postponed.Party leader and her son Rahul Gandhi has already appeared for questioning at the ED for five days. As per the complaint filed in the court of the Metropolitan Magistrate, Associated Journals Limited (AJL) took an interest-free loan of Rs 90.25 crore from Indian National Congress, which was not paid back. Congress has maintained there is no money laundering involved, and has called the summons ‘politically motivated’ move by the Centre.
