Cong sets up interviews of Maha assembly ticket seekers

Mumbai, Oct 1 (FN Bureau) Vice-president of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Nana Gavande said that interviews of over 1,680 aspiring candidates for upcoming assembly election will start Tuesday in all district units of the party.Senior leaders of party have been assigned the responsibility for interviewing ticket seekers and they will visit their designated districts, conduct interviews and submit reports to MPCC, said Gavade in a press statement. The MPCC had invited applications from aspiring candidates for the assembly elections and in response it received 1,688 applications, he said.

Under the guidance of Maharashtra Congress in-charge Ramesh Chennithala and with the approval of state president Nana Patole, the senior leaders given the responsibility of taking interviews include former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Naseem Khan, MP Chandrakant Handore, MP Praniti Shinde, Muzaffar Hussain, MLA Kunal Patil, Satej alias Bunty Patil, Amit Deshmukh, Dr. Nitin Raut, Yashomati Thakur and Vishwajit Kadam. These leaders will visit their designated districts from October 1 to 8 to interview the aspiring candidates and submit confidential reports to the MPCC by October 10, added Gavande.
