Cong seeks discussion on Excise Police in Delhi Assembly

New Delhi, Aug 25 (Representative) The Congress on Thursday demanded the Arvind Kejriwal-led government to hold a discussion over the alleged excise scam in the Delhi Assembly during its one-day special session on August 26. “The House should hold a detailed discussion on the liquor scam which has brought shame to the national capital. It should bring out a ‘white paper’ on the same ,” Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar Chaudhary said.

Attacking Kejriwal, Chaudhary said, “It was strange that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who never bothered to call special sessions of the Assembly even when many pressing issues were there concerning the capital has now convened a session tomorrow amid political tussle over CBI probe on Excise Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the liquor scam, and the AAP accusing the BJP of trying to ‘buy’ it’s MLAs.” He said Kejriwal and Sisodia should apologise to the House for “misleading” it regarding the liquor policy. Chaudhary also accused Kejriwal of trying to divert the attention of the people by raising issues not related to the alleged excise scam. He further said , “Congress workers will come out on the streets to expose whole truth behind the liquor scam, orchestrated by Kejriwal and Sisodia if the Assembly does not bring out a ‘white paper’.”
