Cong MPs, leaders to march to ED on July 13

New Delhi, June 9 (Agency) Congress MPs and senior leaders will march to the office of the Enforcement Directorate on July 13 as party leader Rahul Gandhi is set to appear for questioning in the National Herald case. In a show of strength, the MPs and party leaders will march from the Congress office at Akbar Road to the ED office at APJ Abdul Kalam Road in New Delhi, said sources. Congress leaders will also stage protests in front of all ED offices across the country, sources said.

On Thursday, a meeting of AICC General Secretaries and PCC presidents was held through video-conferencing to discuss the summon to Rahul Gandhi, and Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi has been summoned by the ED to appear before it on June 13. The Congress President had been summoned on June 8, but she could not attend it as she is down with Covid. The Congress leaders have been summoned in the National Herald case. As per the complaint filed in the court of the Metropolitan Magistrate, Associated Journals Limited (AJL) took an interest-free loan of Rs. 90.25 crore from Indian National Congress, which was not paid back. Congress has maintained there is no money laundering involved, and has called the summon a ‘politically motivated move’.
