Condition has worsened: Cong on Yogi govt’s 4 yr anniversary

Lucknow, Mar 19 (FN Bureau) Taking a jibe on the fourth anniversary of the Yogi government, Uttar Pradesh Congress unit president Ajay Kumar Lallu said that in the past four years, the condition of the state, especially the farmers, has worsened. Talking to media on Friday, Mr Lallu said that according to the NCRB’s report, 28 farmers are dying of suicides in the state everyday as per which, 5,464 farmers have died by suicide here since 2019 till now. As per the government report, the income of each farmer has decreased by 17 per cent in the last one year. A loan of Rs 1 lakh has increased on every farmer.

Mr Lallu claimed that the sugarcane mills owe 8,447 crore rupees to the farmers in the state, the most in the country. Since the Yogi government came to power, in comparison to 2016-17, the MSP of the sugarcane price has hardly increased. Despite the natural calamity and other miseries among the insured farmers in the state under the Fasal Beema, the government accepted in the Assembly that even 10 per cent of the farmers have not got the benefit of Fasal Beema. The Congress leader said that the unemployment rate has risen to 9.97 per cent in the past 45 years. The BJP had promised to provide 70 lakh jobs in its ‘Lok Sankalp Patra,’ but after four years, the government is making a fake promise of giving 4 lakh jobs. Unemployment is continuously increasing in the state and lakhs of youths are getting unemployed each day. The MSME sector, which provides jobs, is in a state of disrepair. Thousands of MSMEs have shut down.

The party’s state unit president averred that over five lakh posts are vacant in government departments. The level of education is consistently deteriorating in the state. The parents are forced to pay for expensive education in private institutions. The shortage of teachers in government schools continuously persists while the various measures for the recruitment of teachers are marred by corruption. The seriousness of a poor economy and economic difficulties due to the coronavirus is such that over 65 per cent people are not able to deposit the fees of their children. On the other hand, more than 3 lakh, 60,000 teachers are suffering in the absence of salaries, he averred. Lucknow ranks third in the country and first in the state in crimes against women. The continuous rapes, gang-rapes and murder incidents against women and small girls under the BJP government, which created the slogan of ‘Beti bachao, beti padhao,’ and the pretense of Anti-Romeo Squads and Mission Shakti, have consistently embarrassed the state.

Be it Unnao, Shahjahanpur, Hathras, Lakhimpur, Badaun, Balrampur, Bhadohi, Bulandshahr, Azamgarh, Kushinagar, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, almost every district of the state continued to echo with the cries of women and raise questions on the women safety and law and order situation in the state. The government’s attitude has been of providing protection to the guilty rather than punishing them. He claimed the government accepted in the Legislative Council that the development rate of the state, which was 6.3 per cent as compared to 2018-19, has now reduced to only 3.8 per cent. As per the figures given in the Lok Sabha by the government, 68,000 industries have been closed out of which 10 per cent are from UP alone.
