New Delhi, Apr 15 (Representative) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came down heavily on the Central government and alleged that it is misusing Central investigative agencies to intimidate opposition leaders. The reaction came after CBI sent a summon to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwaln and asked him to appear before it on April 16 for questioning in connection with Delhi excise policy case. AAP Leader and Delhi Minister Atishi termed it BJP’s “formula to silence opposition,” and accused the Central Government of “misusing agencies to intimidate opposition leaders. “She, in a press briefing, alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s close friend’s companies are yet to be investigated while Kejriwal has been sent a CBI notice. Atishi alleged that this was a clear example of the government’s efforts to target the CM, who they saw as their next political target.
She stressed that the party would continue to fight against corruption and for the rights of the common people, despite any attempts to silence them. Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh came down heavily on BJP-led Central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he alleged “A conspiracy has been hatched to arrest and put Kejriwal in jail and take action against him.” Singh, in a press conference here, said CBI summon would not stop Kejriwal and AAP fight against corruption. Singh alleged, “The day of Arvind Kejriwal’s speech in Delhi Assembly. On the same day Centre started plotting to arrest Kejriwal. The fight will not stop with CBI summons.” “This is Arvind Kejriwal who gave the country the model of education, health, electricity and water. Your notice is not going to stop his fight against corruption. Your scam worth lakhs of rupees will go from house to house,” alleged Singh.
