Bulldozer can harm communal harmony: Mayawati

Lucknow, April 21 (Agency) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati on Thursday expressed displeasure over the demolition drive at Jahangirpuri in Delhi and warned that use of religion will harm communal harmony. In a series of tweets, Mayawati said the government should also take action against officers who allowed illegal constructions to come up and denounced the attacks on the poor due to the use of bulldozers.

She tweeted: “The poor are getting affected from the bulldozers being moved in Jahangirpuri in Delhi and others along with other states in the guise of illegal construction whereas the government should act against those corrupt officers who are responsible for the illegal constructions. “It is not justified to move the bulldozer wherever riots and violence takes place in the country as the poor people are also getting crushed. Instead, strict legal action should be taken against actual culprits. “Along with this, if religion is also used, then the harmony in the country will end and the anti-national forces could take advantage of this.”
