Hyderabad, July 20 (Representative) The Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organized an Unemployment Maha Dharna at Dharna Chowk, Indra Park, on Saturday.Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy participated in the dharna, demanding that the fair demands of unemployed youth be fulfilled and the promises made to them be honoured.Reddy highlighted the sacrifices made by the youth of Telangana in the pursuit of statehood, noting that about 1,500 Telangana youth were martyred. He emphasized that the BJP, from local to national levels, played a vital role in achieving Telangana statehood. Recalling the day when police suppressed student protests at Osmania University, he mentioned how the late Sushma Swaraj supported the students’ aspirations in Parliament. Reddy criticized the then Telangana government under K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), accusing KCR, his family, and the BRS party of betraying the youth by failing to issue job notifications and fill vacancies. He condemned the Congress government’s alleged tyrannical attitude towards BJYM workers and the unemployed. He accused KCR of banning protests at Dharna Chowk and criticized the Congress party for making false promises before elections and failing to deliver on them once in power.
Reddy specifically condemned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for his alleged failure to fulfill promises such as filling of 2 lakh government jobs, providing unemployment benefits, issuing education insurance cards, and distributing electric scooters to young women. Reddy claimed that the current Congress government, like the previous BRS government, has not implemented its promises. He accused the government of acting oppressively, allowing only Congress leaders and followers access to the Secretariat while barring unemployed youth. Reddy asserted that both the Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka and the Revanth Reddy government in Telangana have quickly suppressed people’s movements. He accused the Congress of spreading false propaganda and engaging in deceit. He warned that the guarantees made by the Congress party would be unfulfilled and that people would eventually see through their false promises, just as they did with the KCR government. He claimed that under Congress rule, the lives of Telangana people have worsened and that only Congress ministers and high command have benefited. Reddy vowed that the BJP would continue to support students, unemployed youth, farmers, and women who have been cheated by the Congress government.
