BJP will win in Uttarakhand: PM

New Delhi, Feb 7 (FN Agency) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asserted that the ‘double engine’ government brought development in Uttarakhand by removing the brake on development put by the previous Congress government and claimed that the BJP was set to retain power in the hill state. “The double engine government removed the brake on development. In our effort, there is no brake. Therefore, it is necessary, the next government should be honest and move forward with a resolution to work for the people. I assure you that under the leadership of Pushkar Singh Dhami, BJP will give a government which will work on pace,” Modi said, addressing a virtual rally at poll-bound Uttarakhand.

Attacking the Congress, he said: “For us Uttarakhand is ‘Devbhommi’ but for some people it is ATM. They only want to loot the natural resources and fill their own pockets. This is their mindset. Those who did not want to see Uttarakhand as a state. Will they want to see the development of Uttarakhand? This has been the attitude of the Congress party.” Highlighting the various initiatives taken by the “double engine government” for the development and welfare for the people in the Himalayan state, Modi said: “We have to retain this momentum. In next four years, Uttarakhand will complete its 25 years, I had said at the Kedarnath temple, this decade will be of Uttarakhand. Don’t let this opportunity go and give Congress a chance again.” He exuded confidence that BJP will form the government with absolute majority. “By seeing the enthusiasm of the people for BJP, it is clear that the blessings of Uttarakhand are completely with BJP.” Assembly elections in Uttarakhand will be held on February 14.
