BJP wants to run Delhi through ordinance: Kejriwal

New Delhi, June 20 (Agency) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday accused the BJP-led Centre of trying to establish control over the elected state government through a recent ordinance that has led to the formation of the National Capital Civil Service Authority (NCCSA). “Through this ordinance, the BJP-led Centre is trying to establish control over the elected Delhi government,” Kejriwal said after attending the first meeting of the NCCSA here.Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal alleged that the BJP was trying to rule Delhi on the strength of the ordinance despite losing four elections in the national capital. Kejriwal said the ordinance places officers above the ministers, the chief minister and even the cabinet.

“Now the final decision in every department will not be that of the minister, but of the departmental secretary. The secretary can overrule the decision of the Minister. Above the cabinet will be the chief secretary who will decide which decision of the cabinet is correct, which clearly shows the BJP government’s intention,” he alleged. To reverse the chief minister’s decision, two officers have been placed above the CM, Kejriwal claimed. “The central government will have direct control over these officers. In this way, after losing the elections, BJP wants to run the Delhi government,” claimed Kejriwal.
