BJP talks about religion, not jobs: Priyanka

Dehradun/New Delhi, Feb 2 (Agency) The BJP always talks about religion and not issues like employment, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on Wednesday as she released the party manifesto for the assembly elections in Uttarakhand. Releasing the manifesto in the presence of senior party leaders, she told an Uttarakhand Swabhiman Pratigya rally that the BJP government in the state had not done anything for the welfare of the people for the last five years.

She said the expectations of the people were shattered the way BJP was running the government in the state and the development which it has claimed was not seen on the ground. Priyanka Gandhi said the women were bearing the burden of inflation, and even youths and Dalits were in dire straits. She alleged that the BJP was not talking about employment but only religion. “Development took place in Uttarkhand during Congress time,” she said. Meanwhile, the Congress has it will give four lakh jobs and cap LPG cylinder prices at Rs 500 in the state if voted to power. The Uttarakhand Assembly elections are due on February 14.
