New Delhi, May 19 (Agency) BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Thursday launched a scathing attack at the political parties across the country, which are being run by mostly one family, including Congress and said the saffron party was fighting against the ”dynastic politics,” as it was a ”threat” to democracy. “BJP is fighting against political parties, which are being run by families. In Jammu and Kashmir, our fight is against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the National Conference (NC), in West Bengal against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and in Maharashtra against the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena,” Nadda said, while addressing a seminar on ‘Threat of Dynastic Political Parties to Democratic Governance’ here.
Talking about the Indian National Congress (INC), the BJP president said, “It is very unfortunate that Congress neither remained national nor Indian or democratic. It has become a party of ‘bhai-behen’ (brother and sister). Dynastic political parties are a threat to democracy.” Mentioning about other political parties, including the Samajwadi Party (SP), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), Nadda said, “Political party is an important tool in a democratic system.
If it is unhealthy, then it will affect our democratic system.” “You all are aware about how these parties function. Their principle is whatever their wish is, that is the law,” he added. Nadda said, “Some people have taken over the regional parties and sidelined the ideologies. They have turned into family parties. “These parties’ main motive is to come to power by any means and they don’t lag behind even in polarisation. They do politics in the name of caste and religion,” he claimed. Mentioning about the functioning of BJP, Nadda said, “BJP is the only political party, which maintains all internal dimensions of democracy.”
