New Delhi, Jan 17 (Agency) Stating that the people of Delhi have made up their mind to bring in the grand old party after the Assembly polls, the Congress on Friday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi and the BJP at the Centre have committed “an act of double fraud”. Addressing a press conference at the DPCC headquarters here, party spokesperson Pawan Khera said, “What started happening with Delhi in 2013-2014 was an act of fraud. But this was not an act of single fraud but of double fraud committed by the AAP government in Delhi and the BJP government at the Centre”.He said that the condition of roads and parking in Delhi is bad, drug addiction is on the rise, health infrastructure was crumbling and pollution has ruined the national capital. Accusing both the BJP and AAP governments of running from responsibility, Khera said, “If you look to the right here, you see ‘Sheesh Mahal’ and if you look to the left, you see ‘Raj Mahal’. But if you ask for accountability, the AAP-BJP people point at each other”.
The Congess spokesperson said that it was only the Congress that can fulfill the needs of Delhi and the 15 year of its previous rule is a proof. “We have fulfilled our guarantees in Himachal Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka and our guarantees for Delhi – Pyari Didi Yojana, Jeevan Raksha Yojana, Yuva Udaan Yojana, Mehngai Mukt Yojana and Free Bijli Yojana will also be fulfilled,” Khera said.Explaining about the ‘Free Bijli Yojana’, the Congress leader said, “In Congress’ plan, 300 units of electricity will be free. That is, having 301 units does not mean that you will have to pay the bill for 301 units. You will have to pay the bill only for the electricity consumed above 300 units”. “This will not be a fraud like the scheme running under the AAP government,” Khera said.Delhi, is witnessing a triangular contest with the BJP, Congress and AAP and they are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters. Voting to the 70-member Delhi assembly will take place on February 5, while the counting will be on February 8.
