Bhagwant Mann takes oath as Punjab CM

Khatkar Kalan (Punjab), March 16 (Agency) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Bhagwant Mann took oath as the Punjab Chief Minister here on Wednesday, six days after his party won a landslide victory in the keenly fought assembly elections. Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered the oath of office to the AAP leader at around 1325 hours on a stage constructed at the ancestral village of revolutionary Bhagat Singh in front of tens of thousands of cheering supporters. AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his Deputy Manish Sisodia and other Ministers from the AAP government in Delhi witnessed the brief ceremony along with all the newly elected AAP MLAs.

Also present were Kejriwal’s wife Sunita and their daughter besides AAP MP Sanjay Singh and party leader Raghav Chadha. Popular singer Gurdas Maan, Bollywood actor Binu Dhillon and several others from the field of art and music also attended the swearing-in ceremony.
