Lucknow, March 11 (Agency) The landslide victory of the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls has given a new dimension in the state politics with overcoming from the traditional caste and communal dynamics to “beneficiaries class” model, it was reported on Friday. Prime minister Narendra Modi who coined the ideology with a slogan of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas aur Sabka Vishwas’ has also shed the old era of casteism, regionalism and caste mobilization. BJP and its alliance has won 273 seats of the total 403 in this elections creating a record of sorts. Political experts feel that this result in favour of BJP is an indicator of public confidence for the party in the guarantee of respect to the farmer, ration to the poor and security to the citizens. Before the elections, an attempt was made by a section to create a narrative of caste mobilization and fragmentation, but the results have proved that it was a mere fantasy with no basis, they claimed.
The experts opined that efforts were made to take this election against the BJP on the pretext of Lakhimpur and Hathras incidents, but in both these seats the public had supported the BJP. This proves that the attempt to mislead the people in the election on the pretext of some incidents has failed too, they said. The result of the Uttar Pradesh elections was between a government working in the interest of all and those who claimed caste mobilization by making an electoral opportunistic alliance. The results have proved that people have reposed faith in the double engine government of Modi’s leadership, providing ration and housing to the poor, respect to the farmer and security to the citizens. Distribution of tickets by BJP in this victory was also a big factor. “This time the BJP fielded more than 170 new faces. Changed the tickets in more than 100 seats and MLAs who won last time and changed faces of losers in around 70 places. Also fixed the participation of caste and communities with just 1 per cent share by giving them tickets. This became a key factor in victory for the BJP,” claimed IP BJP vice president Vijay Bahadur Pathak here on Friday. He claimed that the biggest effect of free ration has been on women. “Women across caste and community have openly approved Modi’s scheme of free ration. The support of women voters is the most important and noticeable reason for this victory,” Pathak further claimed.
