Lucknow, Jan 3(Agency) Irrespective of the fact that Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has expressed opposition to the Covid- 19 vaccine, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) National President Mayawati on Sunday congratulated the government on the development of the vaccines and demanded that poor should be administered the vaccine on a priority basis. In a tweet today, Ms Mayawati said ,” I welcome the arrival of indigenous Covid vaccines and congratulate the scientists and doctors for bringing it.” She requested the Central government to provide free covid vaccines to all health workers and the poorer sections of society. Earlier on Saturday, SP president Akhilesh Yadav had termed the vaccine as BJP vaccine and announced that he will not take it.
