Shimla, July 18 (Agency) All the 68 MLAs & one MP in the state cast their votes for the President of India Election held at Vidhan Sabha Complex here on Monday, the Presiding officer confirmed. Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Presiding officer of Presidential Election Yashpal Sharma said all 69 register voters cast their votes till 12.44 pm on Monday. He said polling was cent per cent as everyone turned up to cast the votes. He said ballot box would be sealed at 5 pm however no one is left to cast their votes now.
He said ballot box would be dispatched for Delhi soon after it gets sealed. Unicameral assembly have total 68 MLAs and four Lok Sabha and three Rajayasabha seat. State Assembly Congress MP from Mandi parliamentary constituency Pratibha Singh decided to vote in Shimla, however MPs Kishan Kapoor, Suresh Kashyap, Anurag Thakur, Rajya Sabha MPs JP Nada and Indu Goswami and Sikandar Kamar caste their vote in Delhi. The vote value of a Himachal MLA in the presidential election is 51. BJP has total 43 and 2 independent MLAs supporting BJP.
In this sense the vote value of BJP MLAs will be 2295. The total vote value of 22 MLAs of Congress and Rakesh Singha of CPI(M) will be 1173. MP’s Vote Value 708 Each. The BJP has a total of 6 MPs, including three MPs each from Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, while the Congress has only one. In this way total vote value of BJP MPs will be 4248 and Congress vote value will be 708 votes.
