Youth should become ambassadors, promote Hindi as a global Language : Sonowal

New Delhi, Dec 8 (Mayank Nigam) Youth will have to become the ambassadors of Hindi and promote it as a global language, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal said on Saturday Delivering the 83rd Convocation address of the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha in the city, he said Hindi has won has the hearts of the people of the world, due to popularity of Hindi Films which have been screened across the globe. The Minister said the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha was established by Mahatma Gandhi and the institution is carrying on its journey promoting the language in different prts of southern India.

“Hindi was adopted from various languages spoken in the country and is a great unifying factor promoting India’s integrity and sovereignty”, Mr Sonowal said . “There is great power and humanness in language and there has to be commitment among the youth to promote it”, he added. Pointing out to various languages spoken by the people in different parts of the country, the Minister said all Indian languages have been born at the feet of Bharat. He said the different languages spoken are the pillar stone of “Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat”. Rank Holders from the southern states of Chennai, Kerala were felicitated at the convocation ceremony and senior Pracharaks from Chennai were honoured for the service in propagating Hindi in the southern states. Over 8000 students received their degrees in Praveen and Visharad examination.
