Would enact law reserving jobs for mining dependents if voted to power

Panaji, Nov 8 (Agency) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said if voted to power, his party would enact a legislation reserving employment to those who are dependent on mining in Goa. He said the mining dependents will get a monthly allowance till mining starts in the state. However, the AAP government would start mining within six months after coming to power, he added. ”At least 80 per cent of the jobs, even in the private sector, would be reserved for the locals.

I need your support. You have BJP and Congress as well. You give just an opportunity. I assure you that no other party will come to power except AAP,” he said. The AAP leader said his government would give land rights to Badruk-Karmali villagers within six months of coming to power. ”There are vested interests who do not want mining to start. I have assured that trucks and machinery of the locals would be used in the mining business,” he said. Mr. Kejriwal is one a two-day visit to Goa which is due to polls early next year.
