World-class healthcare, education are top priorities of my govt : Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar, Aug 16 (FN Bureau) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday said the top priorities of his government was to provide world-class healthcare, education, employment, and skill development. Addressing the public after hoisting the National flag at Gandhi Marg on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, the Chief Minister said the government is committed to the development of the state. He said today is a very important day for the state. On this day the state started its transformation journey. The state is on the path of development and will march ahead with ‘Odia Asmita’ and ‘Swabhiman’ and touch the peak of development, Majhi said.

The CM vowed to fulfill all the promises made to the people and said two major promises– opening of all four gates of Srimandir and Ratna Bhandar, have already been fulfilled within the first 60 days of the formation of the government. Majhi said the government is committed to the economic development of farmers and development of women. He said his government has chalked out a plan to implement two promises in 100 days. The government, the Chief Minister said has decided to increase the MSP for paddy to Rs 3100 per quintal for the upliftment of farmers and to implement the Subhadra Yojana for women under which Rs 50,000 will be given to poor women.

The Subhadra yojana would be launched on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17. Majhi said these schemes would boost the development and take the state on the path of development. Paying his tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the state, Majhi said not only the farmers and women but the government also has plans for the collective development of all sections of people. He said steps are being taken to implement the PESA Act in tribal-dominated areas and the government is initiating steps to fill up 1.5 lakh government posts lying vacant in the next five years.
