Kolkata, Dec 20 (Representative) An Army officer’s contribution for the nation is unforgettable, and to salute the spirit, the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) has commenced “Wellness Warriors, “a felicitation Ceremony of Heroes of the Indian Armed Forces. The ceremony was at the Air Force Auditorium in the esteemed presence of Naval Chief, Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy; Air Marshal Krishnaswamy Anantharaman, Air Officer In-charge Administration (AOA), Indian Air Force; Subir Chakraborty, President, The Bengal Chamber, and other dignitaries. Achievers from Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and Indian Army who have earned laurels for their extraordinary achievements have been felicitated at the programme at Air Force Auditorium in New Delhi. The main objective of BCC&I behind organizing this Three-fold Approach Initiative is to salute and acknowledge our nation’s protectors who have sacrificed their foretimes to gift us the fruit of freedom. This initiative is focusing on the well-being of the retired Brave Hearts and their families and felicitates remarkable heroes who have earned laurels for their extraordinary talent. The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) in association with Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) has also organized a Job Meet for ex- servicemen for the first time in Eastern India, “Wellness Warriors Job Meet 2022” earlier this month where organizations like Jaibalaji Industries Limited, Prism Johnson Limited, Exide Industries Limited, Senco Gold & Diamond, GRP Limited, S&IB Services Private Limited, RT Network Solution Pvt. Ltd. Infinity Group, Aditya Birla Capital, Checkmate Services Pvt. Ltd., Bank of Baroda and Kotak Life Insurance have participated.
The aim behind this initiative was to provide an interface between Armed Forces Retirees & Principal Employees for ensuring their resettlement through dedicated Job Registration Meet, HR Heads Meet and other various opportunities for enhancing employability after their early retirement. Through the Job Fair out of 525, 126 Ex-Service Personnel got shortlisted for resettlement/job. CSR Initiatives by creating platforms where corporates get an opportunity to participate in assisting the Armed Forces through their long-term CSR activities and by announcing their targeted CSR projects for a continued period. As a part of the CSR initiative on 19th December BCC&I in collaboration with Yuva Unstoppable NGO recognized 6 to 8 patrons towards their philanthropic contribution catering to the CSR need in India.This Initiative was led by Jitendra Kumar, Chairperson, CSR and Corporate Governance Committee, The Bengal Chamber and Company Secretary & President (Legal & Corporate Affairs), Exide Industries Limited and Amitabh Shah, Founder and Chief Inspiration Officer, Yuva Unstoppable.Subir Chakraborty, President, The Bengal Chamber and Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Exide Industries Limited said, “Wellness Warriors is all about felicitating and thanking the remarkable achievers from the Navy, the Air Force, and the Army. It is also all about ensuring a self-propelling endeavour towards resettlement of Armed Forces retirees in sync with their experience and qualifications.

This will help early retirees of the Force to resettle and serving the industry too; Industry will get young, trained, abled-people, and on the other hand this will ensure incorporation of youth in the Force” Air Marshal Krishnaswamy Anantharaman, Air Officer In-charge Administration (AOA), Indian Air Force said, “The initiative has already started connecting Ex-servicemen with the Industry for resettlement. We have joined the first placement camp in Kolkata which was a successful camp. The initiative will help to the Agnipath Scheme a huge success.” The Awards were conferred to nine Achievers from Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and Indian Army who have earned laurels for their extraordinary achievements.
