Mumbai, Apr 23 (FN Representative) The war against the Covid-19 has begun and we will win this ‘battle’, assured the Maharashtra State chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday during a virtual meeting. Although, the lock down is the last option, but unfortunately time has come to impose strict restrictions in the state but the state government is taking care not to affect the state economy cycle in such situation, he said.. The meeting was attended by all the Covid affected states CM of the country . Mr Thackeray said that , the state government is utilising services of retired doctors and nurses and given preference the treatment through Telemedicine and Tele ICU ,he said .
He further said that mild patients are being given medical treatment with the help of retired doctors and medical students doctors at home isolation. He also demanded adequate supply of Oxygen and Remedesivir injection to the state and ask to supply Oxygen through aircrafts . In view of limited vaccine production company in our country, the CM asked the prime minister to guide whether it would possible to import the vaccine and increase the vacvination. Apart from Remedisivir drug among other related drug for Covid treatment should supply to state regularly, he expected. He also said that due to the double mutation of the virus in the state and the rapid increase in the number of infections, proper study should be done in this regard and genome sequencing should be done so that appropriate policy can be decided. State government was talking to entrepreneurs, workers as well as others and it is very important to adopt a coherent working method to prevent the third wave and said to enhancing the medical facilities required, there was a need to differentiate between working hours and methods.
Mr Thackeray also sought to import Remedesivir in view of shortage and raising demand due to critical patients. Also vaccine pharma companies will not able to supply more vaccine in few period it should be consider the demand to import vaccine by the state government and also permit to corporate groups to purchase vaccine from their CSR fund, he added.
