Waste Management: Training for Panchayat secretaries on technical, legal aspects concludes

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 26 (Agency) The training programme series for panchayat secretaries in the state conducted to impart a comprehensive understanding of the legal and technical aspects of waste management as part of the ‘Malinya Muktham Nava Keralam’ campaign concluded here on Tuesday. Organized by the Local Self Government Department (LSGD) in association with Kerala Institute for Local Administration (KILA), the module of the training programme had two-day sessions each for three batches of officials, who lead the campaign in panchayats.

Panchayat secretaries from Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad and Malappuram districts attended the final lap of the training programme. Additional Chief Secretary, LSGD, Sarada Muraleedharan led the training programme, where faculties of KILA and experienced officials of LSGD handled classes focusing on the technical and legal matters of waste management. The suggestions of the participants were sought at the training sessions and solutions were proposed with respect to specific issues concerning different places. Panchayat Principal Director, Directors, Heads of Suchitwa Mission, Clean Kerala Company, Kudumbashree Mission and KILA addressed various sessions of the training, which was conducted using modern technologies.
