Value nature, culture, Dharma-Dhamma traditions, connecting peaceful coexistence and progress: VP

Rajgir, Nov 07 (Bureau) Stressing the need to follow Dharma Dhamma tradition of Hinduism and Buddhism, Vice President M. Veinkaiah Naidu today exhorted the intellectuals to pass on wisdom in the next generation and connect with the culture and traditions for peaceful coexistence and progress. Inaugurating the 6th Dharma- Dhamma conference in Nalanda International University organised in collaboration with the University and India Foundation, Mr Naidu said here that sharing experiences and moving together was the need of the hour in the backdrop of covid-19. He said that it is essential to seriously think the ways to bring peace, reduce tension and pay attention to make the people’s life more comfortable and more happy. Describing happiness much more important for peacefulness which was a prerequisite for progress, he said that the human beings were suffering due to tensions in their life.

Even without valid reason everybody was somehow tensed and unable to pay attention to their work which obstruct their progress. Mr Naidu stressed the need to read, understand and practice the teachings of Hinduism and Buddhism for peaceful life. Highlighting the ancient Indian civilization he said that the Indian philosophy believe in peaceful coexistence in the entire universe and not in any kind of aggression. Outlining Gautam Buddha’s teachings the Vice President said that for a prosperous universe he conveyed to the people to follow Dharma Dharma . Dharma teaches values, maintaining our time tested systems, customs and traditions, he said and appealed to the people to shun their ego and take good things from everybody and anybody.
