Ayodhya, Nov 2 (Representative) Festival of lights, ‘Deepotsav’, will be held at Ayodhya tomorrow when around 12 lakh diyas would be lit up to mark the Diwali celebration. Union Minister for Culture and Tourism G. Kishan Reddy will participate in the ‘Deepotsav’ programme on the invitation of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. UP Governor Anandiben Patel, CM, along with several state ministers and other dignitaries would participate in the religious function. Officials here on Tuesday said the administration will attempt to make a new record by lighting up 12 lakh diyas (earthen lamps) all over the Ayodhya City.
Around 9 lakh diyas will be lit at the Ram Ki Paidi Ghat on the banks of river Saryu on Diwali and 3 lakhs in different places across the city. Deepavali is celebrated in a grand style to welcome the return of Lord Sri Rama along with his wife Goddess Sita and his brother Lakshmana to his kingdom in Ayodhya, after 14 years of exile and vanquishing Ravana. The Ayodhya Deepotsav will enthrall everybody with a series of programmes. This includes a rally of folk artists, tableaus depicting various episodes of Ramayana, the performance of Saryu Harathi, 3D Holographic show, projection mapping, thematic laser show, staging of Ram Leela.
