Nagpur, July 6 (FN Representative) President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday called for tribal communities to become educationally, economically strong and urged them to help fellow tribals to be part of the national mainstream. President Murmu, the India’s maiden tribal president today interacted with members of tribals at Raj Bhavan here and called for the community to strive hard to go ahead in life and become educationally, economically strong and also help other fellow tribals to be part of it. She recalled her school days and said there were no proper roads to her school, no school bags to carry books and she used to cover her head with a cloth while going to school to protect herself from rain.
The President further said that her life was full of struggle at every step but she overcame the challenges and became a teacher, then Governor and now the President of the country. She urged members of tribal communities to pursue higher education without harbouring any inferiority complex. President Murmu strongly express that tribals should all the way become strong and work in higher positions and help fellow tribals to come into the mainstream of development. She left for Mumbai after a three-day tour to Vidarbha . She bid farewell at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Nagpur Airport . Governor Ramesh Bais, Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, State Tribal Development Minister Vijaykumar Gavit Air Marshal Vibhas Pandey, Major General S. K. Vidyarthi, Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidri, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, Superintendent of Police Vishal Anand were present were present at the airport on this occasion.
