The development projects of the tourism capital should be according to the resolutions of the CM: Prof. Chandra Kumar

Dharamshala, Mar 31 (Representative) All departments should work in better coordination for the implementation of major projects proposed by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for the development of district Kangra. Agriculture Minister Prof. in a meeting organized with the district officials to review the ongoing and proposed development works in the district on Friday at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Dharamshala. Chandra Kumar said these words.Agriculture Minister Prof. Chandra Kumar reviewed the progress of all major under-construction and proposed development projects in the district and directed the officials to move forward with a practical approach. He said that it is the resolve of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to develop Kangra as the tourism capital of the state. He said that the government is going to spend crores for the development of Kangra. He said that this money belongs to the public and before using it, the district administration and departments should prepare a practical outline of the projects. He said that the officers should adopt a progressive attitude to implement the development projects of Kangra. He said that no work or project should be such that it cannot be successful in practical terms.

He said that the officers should examine the practicality of every project right from making the blueprint to its implementation. The Agriculture Minister said that Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, after becoming the Chief Minister of the state, should give priority to the announcements made for the state and Kangra. He said that the Chief Minister has expressed commitment to make the state a green state. He said that for this, charging stations for electric vehicles would be made in district Kangra. He informed that 93 places have been identified for setting up electric charging stations in the district. He instructed the officials of the Transport Department to move fast in this direction. He said that the state government has expressed commitment to build a heliport in every district. He said that the Chief Minister has given instructions to construct two heliports only in Kangra, the tourism capital. Taking cognizance of the progress of the heliport to be built at Dharamshala and Palampur in district Kangra, he directed to do this work on priority basis. Chandra Kumar told that the state has got a sensitive leadership in the form of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. He said that due to the touching vision of the Chief Minister, emphasis has been laid on setting up a shelter fund for the destitute in the state and taking care of them. He said that under this, a beautiful ashram would be built for the destitute at Majheen in Kangra district. He informed that 125 kanals of land has been selected in Majheen for its construction.

He instructed the administration to complete this work at the earliest. Apart from this, he also put on the ground works related to Kangra Airport expansion, Golf Course, Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding School, Tourism Village, Convention Centre, Ice Skating Rink, Zoological Park to be built in Bankhandi and development of tourism activities in Pong Dam area. Inquired about the situation regarding land selection, preparation of DPR and various permissions and other formalities. While reviewing the progress of the projects under construction, he took details as to where the ongoing works have reached. How much work has been completed. If any work is stuck then what are the reasons for it. Apart from this, what is the status of land selection and FRA and FCA cases for the proposed projects.
