Hyderabad, Sep 11 (Agency) Telangana Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy reassured farmers on Sunday that they need not worry as there is an ample supply of fertilizers, including urea, in the state.In a media statement released here, Reddy stated that continuous monitoring is in place, directed by the Agriculture Department at the state level and Collectors at the district level. The state currently has 2.18 lakh metric tonnes of urea. Out of this supply, 90,000 metric tons are with private dealers, 41,000 metric tons with primary agricultural cooperatives, 81,000 metric tons with Mark Fed, and 6,000 metric tons in company godowns.
In addition to urea, the state has a total of 7.57 lakh metric tonnes of other fertilizers available. The distribution of fertilizers is carried out according to the condition of crops and crop requirements in the respective districts. Reddy assured that another 18,000 metric tonnes of urea would become available within the next four days. He urged farmers not to be swayed by rumors or concerns regarding fertilizer shortages, emphasizing that the government would take serious action against anyone attempting to create artificial scarcity.
