Pune, Dec 31 (Agency) Support of Gram Panchayats is necessary to strengthen rural economy and the newly appointed sarpanch called for development by combining tradition with technology, said Hemant Patil here on Friday. The Gram Panchayat elections were recently held in the state. The BJP-Shiv Sena as well as the Nationalist Congress, Congress and the Thackeray group in the Maha Vikas Alliance ( MVA) have succeeded in proving their undisputed dominance in many Gram Panchayats. Overall, the dominance of all the political parties has been seen on the results of Gram Panchayats said National President of India Against Corruption Patil. He appealed that the newly appointed Sarpanchs should resolve to do politics for the sake of society. More than half of the country’s population lives in rural areas.
He opined that the support of Gram Panchayats is necessary to strengthen the rural economy. During the Corona period, rural areas saved the country’s economy. Now the newly appointed Sarpanchs have to do the work of strengthening the rural economy. Patil also expressed his belief that the villages can be connected with the mainstream of development by taking up innovative experiments and activities and also effective implementation of government schemes at the village level. Patil appealed that all the sarpanches, while developing the village, should abandon politics and adopt the approach of social causes. A committee should be established at the village level to curb corruption and also take the people into confidence and develop comprehensively. Patil also appealed that the Sarpanch should inform all the villagers about the development works done in the Mishakathi village.
