‘Skill Development is the need of the hour’

Hamirpur, Nov 17 (FN Agency) Skill development is the need of the hour and all should come forward to get fully skilled, said Prem Kumar Dhumal, the former HP Chief Minister and senior BJP leader , while giving certificates to 90 girls for completing the course of Beauty and Wellness Training at Bharnanag village of the district. Notably, the AT Skill Hub is promoting the employability skills and entrepreneurship skills of the youth of the state through Beautician and Wellness Training. So far 210 girls have been trained by the organization. This training program of 45 days duration was provided free of cost to the girls and mother power by AT Skill Hub.

The hub was opened by the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, who is also the local Member Parliament. Dhumal said Tuesday evening that in order to make women self-reliant and to provide self-employment, beauty parlour training camps were being organised by experienced trainers for women in rural areas under the beauty and wellness training program. With the aim of providing employment to the youth of the area, recently, about 55 youths in three batches were provided free security guard and security supervisor training and their placement was also done by Prayas Sanstha. Earlier , Dhumal gave certificates to 45 skilled trainees after participating in the machine operator training program at Samirpur in Hamirpur district and said the Prayas Sanstha and AT Skills Hub were running various training programs from place to place to make the youth of the area become fully skilled.

“Training is being imparted to the youth for many other tasks like backhold loader machine operator, beautician, security guard, plumber, bamboo handicraft, etc”, said Dhumal. Dhumal said,” Skills work enhances the abilities of the youth. A skilled person can do complex work with great ease. To be proficient in doing something, to be proficient or to be skillful, one has to undergo training. The process of learning continues throughout life, there is always scope for learning even in a skilled person”. Dhumal said all these courses will enhance the competency of the youth by making them skilled to get employment or become self-employed. “In today’s cutting-edge digital and technological era, due to the high demand of skilled and qualified class, it is easy for them to get employment”, said Dhumal.
