SCR restores 85 pc of express, 55 MMTS & 85 passenger trains

Hyderabad, Oct 5 (FN Agency) South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya has said that 85 per cent of the mail or express trains, 55 MMTS trains and 85 passenger trains have been restored and more services will be restored in a phased manner. Mr Mallya said this during a meeting with Members of Parliament from Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra States belonging to Secunderabad and Hyderabad Divisional Jurisdiction at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Tuesday, an SCR release said.

The General Manager apprised the dignitaries regarding the progress of the on-going Railway projects including electrification, new line works, doubling and third line works on the SCR jurisdiction. He said that the Kazipet – Balharshah third line project, Kazipet – Vijayawada line, Manoharabad – Gajwel – Kothapalli new line, Akkanapeta – Medak new line and Falaknuma – Dhone doubling project are on fast progress. Mr Mallya highlighted the services rendered by SCR during the pandemic such as operating migrant special trains, parcel special trains to ensure supply of essential commodities, medicines, milk across the country.

SCR has done significant track maintenance and Yard remodelling works on the zone, he said in addition, various infrastructure works such as rehabilitation of bridges, launching of ROBs/RUBs, passenger amenities such as FOBs were also taken up. He informed that the doubling and electrification works of Umdanagar-Shadnagar-Gollapalli is progressing at a fast pace and it is towards completion.
