Hyderabad, Sep 19 (Agency) South Central Railway (SCR) has been honored with three Energy Efficient Unit Awards for three of its administrative units by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at the 24th National Awards for Excellence in Energy Management-2023. These prestigious awards recognize outstanding energy management practices in the year 2023. The Chief Advisor to the Government of Telangana presented these awards to the respective unit representatives during the Energy Efficiency awards ceremony held at HICC, Hyderabad, as per an SCR release on Tuesday. The awards– Lekha Bhavan (SCR Accounts Building) at Secunderabad has received the “Excellent Energy Efficient Unit in Building Sector” award. Rail Nilayam (SCR Headquarters Building) at Secunderabad and Zonal Railway Training Institute (ZRTI) at Moulali have been honored as “Energy Efficient Units in the Buildings Sector.”
SCR has consistently earned Energy Conservation Awards at both the national and state levels over the years. This year marks a significant achievement as ZRTI building has secured recognition as an Energy Efficient unit for the first time.Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of South Central Railway, extended his congratulations to the Principal Chief Electrical Engineer (PCEE) of SCR, Divisional Railway Manager of Hyderabad Division, and their respective teams for their instrumental role in achieving this distinction. He emphasized that the Zone’s energy management practices have garnered special recognition at both the national and state levels, and he expressed his delight that ZRTI building has received this award for the first time.
