New Delhi, Dec 1 (Agency) Roche Diabetes Care India (Roche) has undertaken an initiative to enhance education, awareness and screening of diabetes within the healthcare ecosystem and to bolster doctor to patient ratio in India. The initiative, ‘Nurses on Diabetes’, is the online education platform launched in partnership with Endocrine & Diabetes Foundation (EDF). So far, this programme has been launched at four hospitals across Maharashtra and has already received 230 registrations.
It will be taken to other cities including Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore by the end of this year. Roche has also partnered with the Maharashtra government with the aim to bridge the gap in healthcare accessibility for underserved communities by bringing essential medical services directly to them. Started November 23, the company is supporting Maharashtra’s National Health Mission (NHM) in organising multiple diabetes awareness and screening camps in Thane district on a massive scale under the central government’s ‘Ayushman Bharat’ campaign, a press release said here on Thursday.
