New Delhi, Feb 13 (Agency) In a major rejig, President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday appointed new Governors for several states including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. The President has also accepted the resignations of Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Lt Governor of Ladakh Radha Krishnan Mathur, a statement said here.According to a communique issued by the President’s Secretariat, the President appointed Lt General (Retd) Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lakshman Prasad Acharya as Governor of Sikkim, CP Radhakrishnan as Governor of Jharkhand and Shiv Pratap Shukla as Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
Gulab Chand Kataria has been appointed as the Governor of Assam and Justice (Retd) S Abdul Nazeer as Governor of Andhra Pradesh, it said. Among the Governors transferred and appointed in other States/Union Territory include Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra. Mishra has been appointed as the Governor of Ladakh, the statement said. The other Governors transferred are Biswa Bhusan Harichandan (from Andhra Pradesh to Chhattisgarh), Anusuiya Uikye, (from Chhattisgarh to Manipur), La Ganesan (from Manipur to Nagaland), Phagu Chauhan (from Bihar to Meghalaya), Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar (from Himachal Pradesh to Bihar), and Ramesh Bais, (from Jharkhand to Maharashtra), as per the communique.
