Bhubaneswar, July 25 (Representative) President Droupadi Murmu arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here this evening by a Special Airforce Plane on a three-day visit to the state. Her visit coincides with the the completion of one year in office on Tuesday. This is her third visit to Odisha after she assumed office on July 23,2022. Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik , Odisha Chief Secretary P K Jena and DGP S K Bansal were among a host od dignitaries received the President at the Airport. The President was given a rousing reception on her arrival. Soon after her arrival she was escorted to Rajbhawan amid tight security ,where she is to stay tonight.
Murmu broke the protocol, got down from her vehicle on the way Raj Bhawan and shook hands with the children standing on the sides of the road to see her. She also went to the artists performing cultural programme in her honour.During her three-day long stay ,the President is to attend a series of programmes. Official sources said on July 25 evening the President will interact with a group of medical students sponsored by the ATUT-BANDHAN family , a non profit organisation and lay the foundation stone for a new building block of Raj Bhavan. The President will grace the valedictory function of 75th year celebration ofthe Orissa High Court at Cuttack, address the annual function of SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack and grace the convocation of National Law University Odisha at Cuttack on July 26. On July 27 the President will interact with the members of PVTGs at Raj Bhavan.She will launch this year’s theme of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya “The Year of Positive Change” for conducting nationwide seminar and conferences and lay the foundation stone for its “Lighthouse Complex” at Dasabatia, Tamando, Bhubaneswar. Nearly 36 platoons of police forces including 12 ADCP, 25 ACPs, 40 Inspectors, and 120 SI and ASIs will be deployed during the visit of the President.
