Nanded, Aug 11 (FN Representative) “Due to the poor economic situation during the Covid period, about 15% of the students from the English schools have got admission in the Zilla Parishad schools”, informed President of Zilla Parishad Mangarani Angulgekar and appealed to the education department to make efforts to retain these students, today. She addressed a meeting of the Standing Committee which was attended by Vice President and Health Chairperson Padma Narasareddy Satpalwar, Chief Executive Officer Varsha Thakur-Ghuge, Social Welfare Chairperson Ramrao Naik, Additional Chief Executive Officer Dr Sharad Kulkarni, members.
Beneficiaries should immediately be given the benefit by the social welfare department, she added and instructed to provide clean water to the people in rural areas by expediting the work under Jal Jeevan Mission under Rural Water Supply Scheme. The state government has instructed students to start classes V to VII in rural areas and VIII to XII in urban areas. Accordingly, it is very important for all headmasters, teachers, center heads, education extension officers to plan before starting a school, she said. Elaborating about the facilities to be made available at the schools she said that hand washing systems, thermometers, disinfectants, soap-water and others were needed. She underlined to ensure cleanliness and disinfection of the school at the local level. All teachers and non-teaching staff of the concerned school should take the RT-PCR test 48 hours before the commencement of school. Teachers and non-teaching staff should submit the laboratory-issued certificate of the test to the school management. This certificate should be verified by the school management, she added.
She clarified that seating arrangements in the classroom as well as in the stop room should be in accordance with the rules of physical distance. Classes should be arranged like a student on a bench. The school should not conduct ceremonies, get-togethers and other similar events which will cause more crowds. Consent of the parents is required before the students can attend the school, she mentioned.
