PM Modi, Luxembourg PM discuss Ukraine conflict and India’s efforts towards peace

New Delhi, July 23 (Representative) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday evening received a call from the Prime Minister of Luxembourg Luc Frieden congratulating him on his re-election for the third time at the head of government. The two leaders discussed bilateral matters, as well as the conflict in Ukraine and India’s efforts towards peace. In a post on X, PM Modi posted: “Had a good conversation with Prime Minister @LucFrieden. “Reiterated commitment to deepen and strengthen India-Luxembourg ties including in the areas of trade, investment, financial services and industrial manufacturing. As democracies, we support regional and global peace and stability.”

The Luxembourg leader in a post on X said that he had a good conversation with PM Modi and that India is an important partner for his country. “Had a good phone call with Prime Minister @narendramodi of India. India is an important partner for Luxembourg. “We confirmed our commitment to further strengthen our close ties. We also discussed geopolitical issues of common interest and our goal to work toward peace and stability.” An official statement said that “Luc Frieden, Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, called Prime Minister Narendra Modi today and congratulated him on re-election for the third consecutive term.

“Prime Minister thanked PM Frieden for his wishes and expressed hope to add vigour and momentum to the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. “Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to work towards further strengthening bilateral partnership in diverse areas including trade, investment, sustainable finance, industrial manufacturing, health, space and people-people connect. “Both leaders exchanged views on regional and global issues, including the conflict in Ukraine. PM Frieden appreciated the role being played by India in supporting the end of the conflict and early restoration of peace and stability. “PM extended invitation to the Grand Duke Henri and PM Frieden for visit to India.“Both leaders agreed to remain in touch.”
