New Delhi/Paris July 13 (FN Agency) Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on Thursday, where he received a ceremonial welcome by French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne at the Orly Airport. In a tweet Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Landed in Paris. Looking forward to boosting India-France cooperation during this visit. My various programmes today include an interaction with the Indian community later in the evening” Prime Minister salso greeted the members of the Indian diaspora who had gathered to welcome him outside a hotel in Paris. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two days visit to France at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Prime Minister will meet with President of the French Senate, Gerard Larcher and PM Elisabeth Borne on Thursday and later in the evening he will be taking part in a private dinner hosted by French President Macron. In the evening, the PM will address members of the Indian community at the iconic La Seine Musicale. PM Modi will attend this year’s Bastille Day Parade to be held in Paris on Friday (July 14) as the guest of honour. On the same day, the Prime Minister will hold delegation-level discussions with French President Macron. The two leaders will also interact with the CEOs from both countries under the rubric of the India-France CEO forum.
After concluding his visit in France the Prime Minister will depart to Abu Dhabi on July 15. In his departure statement, prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I look forward to meeting President Macron and holding wide-ranging discussions on taking forward this longstanding and time-tested partnership over the next 25 years”. “This year marks the 25th anniversary of our strategic partnership. Rooted in deep trust and commitment, our two countries cooperate closely across various domains including defence, space, civil nuclear, blue economy, trade, investment, education, culture and people to people ties. We also work together on regional and global issues” The Prime Minister said.
